MORE IMPORTANT NEWS
NOTES FROM THE CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING:
Our Church Council met on Monday, January 18. We discussed many items. Here are the top four (not in any particular order):
1.) George’s Retirement. George is retiring at the end of February. We are considering options to replace him.
2.) Looking for Some Officers. We praise God for all those who are now serving and who have served on the Church Council. We do have several vacancies to fill. They include: Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Member at Large. Several Boards are also short on members.
3.) Church Finances. Last year was a challenging year for Saint Paul. Our finances were stretched. Even so, our over-all plate giving declined by only 7.5% versus 2019 (2019 = $274,938; 2020 = $254,229). For this we praise God.
4.) Christmas Appeal. The 2020 Christmas is dedicated to Church Sign Improvements. We have received $12,975 so far. Donations will be accepted as long as we keep receiving them.
What else did we discuss? Minutes for the January meeting will be available after they are approved at the February meeting. We should have them in the Church Office by February 17.
VOTERS’ MEETING, FEBRUARY 1.
We will meet in the Parish Hall at 7:00 p.m. Items of business include a few minor changes to the 2021 budget, one of which has to do with our mission offerings.
LUTHERAN WOMEN’S MISSIONARY LEAGUE (LWML) DOOR OFFERING ON FEBRUARY 13 AND 14.
The door offering will be held after worship at all three services. Pleased see the LWML website (lwml.org) for more information about this ministry.
WHAT IS NEW WITH THE LAND SALE?
Not much new to report. The developer is still trying to purchase all four land parcels. He has also met with the Village.
