THANK YOU FOR OUR “COMEBACK”

 

We have not completely comeback from Covid-19, but we are on the way.  Thank you to everyone who has attended worship both in the parking lot and in the sanctuary.  We have had to make many adjustments.  I thank everyone for approaching all this with a kind and understanding spirit.

 

Also, we thank everyone for your generous contributions.  Whether you give at worship, give by mail, or give electronically, it is all deeply appreciated.   

 

Just a reminder: please be sure to sit where you see the blue and yellow tape when you worship in the sanctuary.  We do have spots designated for sitting upstairs in the balcony if the need arises.

 

 

     

PARKING LOT WORSHIP RETURNS SUNDAY, AUGUST 16.

 

Several members have asked about resuming the Parking Lot worships.  Here is the plan:

 

— We will resume the Parking Lot worships on August 16.  These worships will be in addition to our 9:00 a.m. worship in the sanctuary.

 

— The Parking Lot worships will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Based on our past experience, they should be about a half hour long.

 

— The Lord’s Supper will be celebrated on the first, third, and fifth Sundays.

 

— Please be sure to park your car on one of the dots.  You can bring lawn chairs and such if you wish to sit outside.

 

— Please consider attending the Parking Lot worship if you can.

 

— Huge Note: The Parking Lot worship will be cancelled if it is raining at 10:15 a.m.

 

We will continue to offer both worship services as long as needed.

 

WHAT ABOUT SATURDAY WORSHIP?

 

We plan to resume Saturday evening worships on Saturday, September 12.  Worship will begin at 5:30 p.m.  We will be offering the Lord’s Supper if it is also offered on the following Sunday.

 

 

 

DID YOU GET A NEW CHURCH DIRECTORY?

 

They are available in the Narthex.  There should be one with your name on it if you receive our regular mailings.  If not, please ask.

 

 

 

HELP WANTED . . .

 

We are preparing our officer/board positions ballot, to be voted on at our November Voter’s meeting.  All boards are in need of new members (some have what you might call a “desperate” need).

 

Our new Church Directory includes a brief description of each board’s responsibilities.  If you are interested in a one or two year term, please contact Debbie Line at 847.951.7057, or Pastor, or the Church Office.

 

And, we thank everyone who has been serving the Lord by being on one of our boards.

 

 

 

NEW SERMON SERIES BEGINS ON AUGUST 16.

 

It’s entitled: Time for a Comeback: Four Steps to Victory.  The sermon text each week is:

 

— August 16: Romans 3:19-24.  Step to Victory: “Admit You Need a Comeback.”

 

— August 23: Isaiah 1:18-20.  Step to Victory: “Take Responsibility for Your Comeback.”

 

— August 30: John 9:1-5.  Step to Victory: “Let Hope Take Over.”

 

— September 6: Hebrews 11:1-3.  Step to Victory: “Hold on to Your Faith.”
