To all members and friends of Saint Paul's:
Today Illinois is returning to Tier Three COVID mitigation. As you know, I have been listening very closely to our Governor's press conferences during the pandemic. I have consulted with the DuPage County Health Department. I have also benefited from many conversations with our members.
Our goal during the pandemic has always been the same: to be faithful to the Lord, to be good citizens, to be servants of our neighbors, and to be wise about our own health. I am happy to report that we have no need to change our worship schedule at this time. We have been faithful with distancing and wearing asks. We have been sanitizing the sanctuary. We have been far below whichever attendance limit you employ, whether it is 25% occupancy or 25 total in worship.
That said, Governor Pritzker is right to emphasize the alarming COVID numbers we see in Illinois. If you are in a high risk group, or feel ill, or are just not sure what to do, be cautious. As Ephesians 5 says: "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."
It would be wonderful to see you all in worship on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. or on Sunday at 9:00 or 10:30 a.m. But if you should not come --- then you should not come, COVID or not. (The same thing is true during flu season.) Please pray about it, and go where your conscience leads. You can always keep up with worship by watching our next exciting episode on YouTube.
Please do not hesitate to call on me if you have any questions or thoughts on any of this.
Again, to summarize: there is no change to our worship schedule at this time. We will announce any changes if they become necessary.
Stay Healthy,
Hold on to Your Faith,
and in Jesus' Love,
Pastor Zimerman
